Welcome to my blog. Thank you for your visit. Please feel free to come in and browse through the thoughts and experiences shared within. Everything that I write is honest, considered and from the heart. I welcome your comments and hope that you enjoy spending some time here.
I am a writer. I am an artist. I am a blogger. I am a creative. I am a work in progress… within this blog I will share my views along the way.
You will read my views about travel experiences, life experiences and my passion for personal development in art. In sum, this blog is about ‘Life Artistry’.
Why, then, am I doing this?
I love writing … my life is recorded in diaries, doodles and poetry. I find that poetry flows when I am utterly miserable and the doodles highlight happy moments. Writing, therefore, represents a good swathe of me. My age has something to do with it – I reached the landmark age of 50 a couple of years ago – and that seemed to allow my voice to become a little louder – lots of well-learned experience under my belt and from that, confidence gained. When I was in my thirties, I had an interview to do my Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Tim, the course leader, asked me why I was applying at that point in my life. I replied, “I got here as soon as I could.” I was successful then and embarked on a career that I love with a passion. I feel that I have arrived at ‘blogging’ at the optimum time in life. I’m only 52, I’m still inquisitive. I believe that the best is still yet to come….. so why should I not share my insights from the journey so far and also record the latest happenings in a life that is still open to development and growth? That’s the rationale behind this blog. Also, my children, who have busy lives of their own, will have a record of all of the happenings that we rarely have time to share in the moment.
Who am I?
I am a writer. I am an artist. I am a blogger. I am a creative. I am a work in progress.
I’m still very much a ‘Work In Progress’. As part of a Counselling course I was required to ask a number of people that know me well to write five adjectives to best describe me. Loving, determined, honest, reliable and thoughtful were the most common – stubborn, hedonistic, funny and vibrant were some of the runners-up. I would have added shy to the mix but would have been in a minority of one. Who I am may become clearer (especially to me) as my blog grows.
